The condo was just fine but the noise from the surrounding night clubs was very unexcepted. The noise level and smell of pot was unbearable from 12-2:30pm. My family was unable to sleep and we would not stay again. The location was close to food, Boston commons and all Boston has to offer.
Location is everything for this listing. It’s close to many trains and attractions, so that’s a big selling point. A quick heads up that the washer/dryer are not in unit. We thought it was in unit due to listing but had to do coin laundry in the basement. It does get noisy on the weekends due to 3 nightclubs being within the block. If you don’t like rowdy crowds or go to bed early, not the best place for you. Like others said, a few details could make this place 5 stars. The restroom has a rusted shower rod, which didn’t create any inconveniences but was noticeable. Also, the place is clean but a deeper clean to get rid of some marks on the wall would elevate it. Nevertheless, the stay was comfortable and you melt into the beds. Communication was quick and easy. I thought the weekend crowds were entertaining!
Fantastic location! Within walking distance of everything we wanted to do! However, there are 2 nightclubs next door. The line to get in the clubs were well passed our entry way and creating a blockage to get in Friday & Saturday night. Very noisy on weekend, make sure to bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper!
Great people to deal with. Had to make a couple of changes to our reservation and was handled with no fuss, many thanks to Brian, Apartment is right in the centre of everything which is great for exploring Boston. The apartment is a little tired in some areas but was clean, comfortable and ideal for our needs. As mentioned before there is a couple of nightclubs in the street which are quite loud when open but didn't really bother us. There are a few homeless guys around, mostly hanging out around the seven eleven at the of the street but they were harmless and didn't give us any hassle. Overall a great base for exploring Boston and would definitely use Steven for accommodation if we ever get to visit Boston again.
Fabulous place to stay in Boston. Close to Boston attractions and restaurants. Defi nite place to stay whether on business or for leisure. Totally friendly and very responsive hosts.
Nice place and super clean. 😊👍
The main entrance to the building is in a relatively dark alley directly off of a one-way street with no parking available in front of the building. Arriving in the late evening, we found this to be a bit intimidating. However, once entering the security doors into the building and into the room the atmosphere was more comfortable. The host responded immediately to our inquiry about parking and provided good advise on how to find nearby parking garages. We loved the close proximity to Boston Common park and the starting point of the Freedom Trail. Unfortunately the entrance to the apartment building is next to the entrance to some sort of night club. There must've been an event at the club Friday night which ended at 2:00am on a Saturday morning. When the enormous group of young adults were let out into the alley street, the noise from the crowd, together with countless Uber/Lyft/Taxis driving into the area for pick-up and some police sirens and lights woke us up.
Steven was very accommodating and clean. he was responsive and helpful!
It is a great place to stay in Boston, very close to the main attractions
Very cool location! Walkable, and very close to T (subway) stations. The apartment does share a street with nightclubs so there was noise; it did not bother us but it was noticeable, especially on the weekend nights. I do wish that the apartment itself had more to offer, especially for how much we paid. The bathroom had no towel rack, no toilet paper holder, and there was limited space and storage in the bathroom itself. Windows face in towards the rest of the building so there’s only one window that doesn’t have a view of the fire escape. Small details such as these add/take away value very quickly. Beds were super comfy, and there was a lot of closet space! Fans and window AC units were also provided for comfort. Do not book this place if your party is not able to do stairs!!! There are 5 steps getting into the apartment, and the bedrooms are located on the lower level of the apartment. There’s also a step going up into the bathroom.
Place was clean and in great location for central Boston. Very noisy in the evenings due to nightclub on same street, take ear plugs! Amenities were good. Air conditioner unit only in 1 of the bedrooms but that too was noisy! That all said place was nice and in perfect location for Boston Common and theatre district.
We enjoyed our stay here, but wish some features would be added for more convenient usage. The bathroom in the unit could use some hooks for towels and a small shelf or behind the toilet organizer for some extra counter space (currently there is none). While the space is 100% usable, we felt that small upgrades could make a huge difference! Overall we were happy with our stay!
Great central location in the heart of the action in Boston. Directions were very easy to follow as far as finding the place and accessing the unit. Host was very responsive. We enjoyed our stay very much!
Very well located. As described.
The apartment was just what our small group needed for a night in Boston — it was exceptionally clean, easy to get in and out, and the hosts were very responsive. We encountered two issues with our stay, both outside the hosts control but worth noting for future guests: the noise from the night club next door kept us up until past 2AM with the walls shaking from the bass; and cigarette smoke intermittently seeped in from a different unit in the building which made breathing difficult. When I alerted the host, he was graciously understanding. We would return on a weeknight for sure!
A really good, touristic place, the apartment is amazing and really clean, I will definitely go back there
Great apartment! Even better than the pictures. Excellent location.
Apartment was very nice and in a lively location would stay again
Great place and great location!
Great place for a short stay in Boston! Super responsive!
Very clean place, perfect location for our short trip!
Overall great experience - location was easy to get on all the different lines - walkable to North end and other great locations. The week days were great - quiet and easy to get into and no hassles - Friday and Saturday nights were a completely different story - the unit is between two clubs - the streets were loaded with people - and the noise level was bad - fans and noise machines worked somewhat - but the bass booming could not be silenced and went on until 2am both nights...
We would stay again in a heartbeat. Walkable to the T, Boston Commons, and tons of restaurants. Felt very safe for a Mom and just her daughter. Communication was instant. We stayed Sun-Wed but be aware that it's on the street with 2 night clubs right next door and Blue Man Group, so weekends may be busy and loud. Sunday there was an event at one of the clubs until 9 pm and we were able to hear it, but for us it was fine. You will need to bring all your toiletries, there were a few little bottles of shampoo/conditioner and a bar of soap for hand washing. The beds were so comfortable, we slept great.
The place is well located and very close to several restaurants, shops and parks. There are a lot of stuff to do within walking distance. There is one bar next door, which can get a bit noisy during the weekend. Overall I recommend the place!
Great place to stay in downtown Boston if you don’t mind the noise from the club next door.
This was a nice place to enjoy the evening in Boston.
Great stay close to everything downtown! Highly recommend if you are in the Boston area.
Great stay close to everything downtown! Highly recommend if you are in the Boston area.
Nice place, clean, great location. Now, my stay was a Monday night. YYMV if the night club next door is open.
Steven gave clear instructions that were easy to follow
I would stay here again if I visited the area. very clean and convenient location. for the most part it was quiet for it being right next to a boston night club.
Great stay! Spacious and comfortable. Only downside was the noise from the club nearby. Recommend earplugs. Other than that, great location and accommodation.
Everything was good. Plenty of space and everything was clean. The beds were comfortable. Steven and the other workers were quick to reply to any messages. The street was a little noisy on the weekends. However, it was worth staying here knowing that part of the money goes to their non-profit partners. Great initiative.
Lovely spot! Extra kind host who communicated clearly. Amenities are excellent and there are plenty of towels, wash clothes, etc. Home is next to a nightclub so it is very loud late at night.
Clean, comfortable, and the hosts are very responsive. My only complaint is that the street outside gets a lot of foot traffic and is noisy on weekends. If you plan on driving, it’s also worth mentioning that street parking is difficult to find and the nearby garages are all pretty expensive.
Great place! Might not want to checkout if you are a light sleeper on the weekends considering the place is between two night clubs. Other than that the place is fantastic!
The space was very clean, great location and Steven was very quick to respond to any inquiries.
Very nice a spacious place. Very close to theaters, hospital, Emerson College, Boston Common. Will def stay again
I went to Boston with my friends for the new years eve and we had a great time. The apartment is close to all the night clubs we wanted to go to, Icon and Venue are literally next door. There are a lot of restaurants near by as well. Great location!

Nice place to recuperate from surgery! Close to the hospital and restaurants. As many have said it is loud when the bars get out. The back bedroom stayed pretty quiet though and we were able to sleep without any issues.
We had a late check in but the instructions were perfect. Steven was wonderful in making this be a super quick process! 10/10 would use this every time i visit Boston.
Great convenient location in downtown Boston, walkable or easy T access to many attractions. Unit was very clean and accurately described and shown on VRBO. It should be noted that it can get noisy at night on weekends when crowds for the Night Club next door line up in front of the apartment waiting to be admitted and strong bass can be heard while open as mentioned in other reviews.
I wanted to like this property. The management was very responsive, the unit was clean, and it is in a convenient location. However, the neighborhood businesses make it difficult to recommend. There are three nightclubs within 1/2 block. At least one of them goes from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. with very loud music that physically vibrates the calls of the unit. At 2:00, the music stops, but three out of the five days we stayed in the unit, the patrons simply emptied onto the street until 2:30 or 3:00 making sleeping impossible (especially in the front unit). If it wasn't for the clubs, the unit would be wonderful; however because of the clubs (and the lack of sleep), I would not stay there again.
Comfortable, clean and well located, though the club next door really is loud on weekend- bring earplugs. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place.
Overall, the stay for 3 nights was fine and the communication with the owner was great! The bedrooms are downstairs along with the small bathroom. Our group had four adults and it was a bit of a tight squeeze downstairs. The upstairs was spacious and comfortable! Be advised that if you stay on Fri/Sat nights, the club bass will be heard until about 2am.
Superbly situated with a cozy apartment – I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a few days' stay near downtown Boston.
Handy apartment as stated near Boston Common and for public transport connections. An honest description from the owner about the location and the associated noise from nightclubs and building work would be useful to notify future guests especially those with young families. Providing this would at least allow the guests to make a educated decision on this listing which currently doesn’t mention any of the above sadly.
The cleaning fee is as much as a nights stay. On top of that the check in is late and the check out is early so if you book 1 night you barley have any time there but still get the $140 cleaning fee.
The apartment is very good value for money. The location is nice, very central so you can walk everywhere. There is however a club next door which causes some noise until 2 PM. Using earbuds was enough for us to be able to sleep but might be good to know! Furthermore the kitchen supplies were very limited, no basic stuff like pepper and salt or oil. However the price and location really make up for it!
The place was great. The location was central to all things we wanted to see and do. The host was responsive and helpful. It is in between two very busy and very loud night clubs. The music literally vibrates the walls all night long. There are fans included with the apartment that helps drown out the noise, but it is LOUD. Otherwise, the place is clean. There are basic utensils, but no spices, sugar, oil, coffee, etc. but then again…. Who wants to cook when you’re visiting Boston.
Exceptionally clean and very convenient apartment steps from Boston Commons. We were able to walk to all surrounding neighborhoods easily. Very comfortable beds. Great place!
The flat was just perfect. Bigger than what it looks like from the pictures, absolutely clean and well equipped. The beds and pillows are comfortable, the closets are big with a lot of space for clothes and everything. Hairdryer and iron are provided. The neighbourhood is great, with the exception of Cambridge, the flat is at walking distance from everything. It also as a couple of grocery’s stores nearby and a lot of caffettieras. Metro station is 7 min walking. It looks like a safe place also for women travelling alone, but the latest I came back was 8 pm. As other said there is a club next door. I stayed during the week and the first nights it was closed. The street is quiet, the bedrooms are super silent and you don’t hear any sounds from the street. On Thursday the club was open, you can hear the noise from the bedroom facing the street, but to be honest it was nothing that prevented me to peacefully sleep. I don’t know how the weekend may be.Check in very clear.Everything perfect
Nice apartment with plenty of bars/restaurants within walking distance. Some noise from the nightclub next door but other than that it was a good stay and owner was very responsive
Great stay. Great location. Worked well for a work trip to Boston with a colleague.
This place was great! It was clean and in a great location in the middle of the city. The only thing was the night club right next door that was a little loud at night. Other than that, it was a great stay and in a safe location.
Steven’s place was located at the heart of everything. A shirt walk from the park, delicious restaurants and bars, and a short Uber ride away from everything else if walking isn’t your vibe. Highly recommend for your next trip to Boston.
Nice location, convenient to everything. Close to subway station, lots of restaurants. But the room is at the first floor and the bedrooms are semi basement which I didn’t know before I got in.
A wonderful stay. Would highly recommend!
Very clean and very centrally located! Could not asked for a better place
Overall this place hit what we needed- tidy bedrooms, living room and kitchen. We were disappointed with the condition of the bathroom. No places to hang towels in the bathroom itself, even the hand towel. Nor was there a toilet paper holder. The shower curtain rod is rusty and the tub does not have a stopper. The bedrooms could use bedside tables on both sides of the beds. The back bedroom was dark and quiet for our kids to sleep in. The noise and light from the street was quite disruptive to the front bedroom. We did find the noise machine for the second night. If the hosts could get better blackout curtains on the front window it would make a big difference.
Steven’s place is in an excellent location…communication was fast…..covered all our needs! We stayed 3 nights & 2 of those nights were over a Friday & Saturday. Not to be overly critical…..the noise level was horrendous from the club next door….until the early hours! As world travelling guests x 4…..we didn’t actually loose too much sleep….BUT other guests may think differently!
Great spot and very close to restaurants, the common, and the hospital. It was clean and well appointed. Thank you!!
Lovely place! The apartment was very clean and suited our needs very well. We couldn’t have asked for a better location.
The place is in a great location in downtown Boston. Boston commons and other landmarks are within walking distance, making it a tourist’s dream. Steven and Brian are great hosts and replied to every query that I had and helped during check-in and check-out. The only downside is that there are a couple of clubs on the same street which can lead to some disturbance late night. Otherwise the place is great!
Location was a mixed bag. Easy to get around but the noise from the night club was awful! The walls literally vibrated until 2AM. We tried a sound machine and earplugs but it was just too much. Bathroom curtain rod was rusty and the plastic liner holes were torn. There was only 1 hand towel and no hooks to hang towels on in the bathroom. I would suggest some type of shelf above the toilet or sink as there is 0 counter space to set things on - like a toiletries bag or toothbrush. 5 PM check in was inconvenient and the price to move it up was ridiculous. Apartment was clean but plaster was falling off in the ceiling in the closet under the stairs. Definitely would not stay again - hopefully they’ll insulate for the noise from the night club.
There is a club next store that was not disclosed. The club’s music can be heard in the apartment. When inquired was told Steven posted a disclaimer regarding city noise. Nothing about the club sharing a wall. The quiet hours listed for those staying but you can hear the club noise during these quiet hours. When I inquired about the noise, was told they would provide earplugs..really… worst part this was a weekday stay..wonder what it is like on the weekend… The bath towels were all discolored and thin. The shower rod was all rust. No place to put anything in the bathroom. No hooks, shelves or toilet paper holder. Kitchen ceiling over seating counter had strange spots..don’t even want to guess what they are from. Furniture in living room was not comfortable at all. Front bedroom had a large window covered by a thin shade that you could see silhouettes of people walking by at all hours. That ceiling also has some weird things on it. Would never stay here again or recommend it.
Good location, easy to walk to bars and restaurants. Easy check in. Good spot for a weekend trip with a small group.
Really nice apartment! It was beautiful and clean.
Great spot to get a couple days of work done and have a comfortable sleep. Listing was as described. Host was great at communicating! Relatively quiet, with normal Boston city type sounds (some construction, some party-people/music at night).
Good location, close to the T and very walkable. We had a baby with us and the team made sure a pack n play was in the unit before we arrived and the host was responsive. I gave 4 stars just because of the high price for the value - compared to nearby hotels where you could get 2 rooms/2 bathrooms for a similar price (we didn’t do this because we wanted all adults to be around to help with the baby). That combined with the late checkin time would push us to consider other options next time we visit Boston.
Place was very clean and comfortable! I would go back!
Great location, comfy and clean.
The apartment was as described. It was super close to Emerson College and Boston Common. Other the line to get in the club that was next door, the place was great. The line of people waiting extended past the window and down the block. People were screaming and laughing right outside from 10 PM to 2 AM.
The apartment was clean and Management was extremely responsive to questions. The location is wonderful and we are able to walk just about anywhere we wanted to go. The only drawback would be that there is a club next door, so it can be a bit loud in the evenings. But we would stay here again.
The space is clean and furnished nicely. Check in and check out were simple and to the point. It’s probably quiet during the week but very loud on the weekends. I’d recommend noise machines or earplugs if you want to drown out the noise from the alley. The location is great and easily walkable to just about anywhere but there is a club entrance nearby so very loud until early morning hours. Overall it was a great space and would stay here again for location and price. 😁
The location is excellent, close to the city center. The laundry is located in the building and is easy to use. The kitchen is well equipped and suitable for a long stay. We could hear people lining up at the nightclub on Friday nights, but I think that is acceptable.
The duplex was extremely clean and although that is the most important aspect it's worth stating that it also felt pretty cold and uncomfortable. There is little to no natural light coming in, the bedrooms downstairs has 0 natural light as the windows looked into a brick wall. The beds were comfortable but the living room is non existent as it's more like a sitting/waiting room. The linens were spotless and towels were provided but they were tiny and as others have reviewed the Toiletries provided were sub-par. There are 0 rugs or carpets in the apartment and we had to use towels to wipe the floor after coming in from the pouring rain on our last day. The apartment is right near the front entrance to the building and you can hear the glass door slam shut from inside the apartment whenever anyone came and went. The kitchen is fully stocked with supplies but not an ounce of coffee, tea etc. Thankfully, dunkin 711 and cvs are not even a half block away. Overall, clean but uncomfortable.
Amazing location, close to Emerson College, Boston common, and the theater district. Extremely responsive and accommodating host. We definitely hope to be back again soon!
It was such wonderful experience for me and my friend to stay here. Everything is amazing.
Steven was an excellent host. We would stay here again. Thank you.
Steven's house was perfect to visit Boston. We were able to reach the city center on foot and a spacious parking garage was available in the nearby. Additionally the apartment was very clean and easy to access by self check in.
Listing is just as depicted in the ad. The unit was clean and felt comfortable. 2 bedrooms & 1 bathroom is downstairs while the living & kitchen area are upstairs. Unloading our luggage was stressful because the unit is on a very busy one-way side street with no parking. There is a theatre just steps away from the unit. Amenities were pretty much zero. No coffee, tea, or water. Trial size soaps. THATS IT! We were lucky enough to pull up and speak to security who allowed us to bring our luggage into the unit so we didn’t have to drag it all the way from the parking garage. I booked a garage ahead of time so we would have guaranteed parking. We used the app “SpotHero” and found a garage just a street over from the unit. The garage: 65 Charles St S - we paid $88.62 for two days. I would definitely come back again. But would recommend the owner investing in more TV’s & common items like coffee & water. Full size toiletries would also be great! Other than those minor issues, we had fun!
A fabulous value has a great location and is a comfortable, clean residence. Just a short walk to Tuft's Medical Center and Tram/Subway. The band's music was loud from the venue next door. There were quiet noise devices to use. There are stairs inside the unit to the bedrooms and bathroom downstairs, but the unit is on the first floor. The unique access keypad was easy to use. Steven was helpful and replied promptly to any concerns. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
comfortable stay, Just a lot of nightclubs next door so the weekend was very noisy.
This place was a terrific location and worked out well for our needs. We found that some of the reviews were helpful in that it was comfortable and well maintained but there was noise from the club next door on Friday & Saturday nights. We are usually up late and the noise stopped at 2am so it was not a big issue. I'm glad our stay helped support families who need a place to stay when their loved ones need medical care.
Great host and place
great place and location. if you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you.
In a very busy area in the theater district. Parking is difficult and expensive.
The location is great, easy to go everywhere but weekend night is noisy because the building is next to a club
Great spot and very walkable to the surrounding areas. Super clean and has a full kitchen and upstairs/downstairs. Really close to a few great breakfast spots too! The only thing to take note of is it’s right next to a night club so you’ll hear the music all night, even if you bring a sound machine. Just keep that in mind, otherwise, it was a great place to stay!
Great location and communication. Very clean and great for a short stay. The club is right next door so if you plan on traveling on a weekend, be prepared!!
The area was great. Close to everything you needed. Place was clean and perfect.
Great to stay so centrally and avoid the shockingly high hotel rates
Nice apartment in walkable location.
Such a nice location! Comfy beds and plenty of towels. Walking distance to bus and subway lines. Great restaurants and bars so close! Will definitely be bookmarking for future stays!
Location was good, close to everything as noted. Maintenance needed in the bathroom - none of the plug fittings worked (bath or sink), and there were no towel rails or hooks in the entire house. Only very basic amenities are provided so bring your own soap, shampoo, conditioner, coffee, etc. Noise from the nightclub is challenging if you are a light sleeper, as is the noise when the club lets out for the night - the front bedroom window is on the street and we heard some interesting conversations/brawls at 2am each night! Apart from that the apartment was comfortable enough for our family of 4. Parents please also note: no pack and play was provided so we ended up having to go out and buy one after the 5pm check in time. The management company did reimburse this but it was extremely frustrating. The item was noted on the listing, so it should have been there.
Great little spot convenient to everything. Clean and in good shape. Lots of towels and linens. Lots of space and well stocked. Good communication throughout our stay. Would definitely book again! Check the house rules for extra fees. It’s a little unusual but there are charges for simple things like requesting an early checkin.
This place is really central and has all amenities to make it functional, safe, and convenient. It’s super clean and the kitchen is well equipped. The noise-level on the weekend is intense (even for New Yorkers like us). We’d stay again, though, and very much enjoyed our stay!
I have used Airbnb many times in my travels. This is the first negative review I have ever given. Four of us rented the apartment on a Friday and Saturday night in September, 2022. In their house rules they wrote: “As a provider of medical stay housing, we have a zero-tolerance policy and do not allow any smoking, parties, loud music, or disturbances.” With that type of statement, we expected we would be able to sleep at night. On Friday night we retired at 9 p.m. only to be awaken at 10:30 p.m. to loud sounds coming from right in front of our window — people partying and arguing, cars honking, revving of engines, smashing glass and most notable, a deep and constant base sound that literally shook the walls of the bedrooms. A stream of people who were out for a good time walked right in front of our window throughout the night — talking, laughing and arguing loudly. Flashing lights lit up our bedroom all night. The next day I learned the reason for the commotion: A dance club play rap and Latino music is right next door. The base shook the walls so much that I assume there are shared walls with the club. We contacted the hosts at midnight about the situation, and to the credit of the management team, someone responded promptly with expressions of concern and an offer to bring a white noise machine and ear plugs the next day. Unfortunately there is no amount of rainfall noise that could ever drown out the extremely loud noise coming from the street. I had my own ear plugs in the entire night, and it was no help. The noise and thumping were that unbelievably loud. Friday night the commotion went on until 2:30 p.m. Saturday night, however, was worse. In addition to all that had been going on on Friday night, Saturday brought two incidents of gunfire right in from of our unit. After each incident of gunfire, police came with sirens wailing and lights strobing. People were arguing, honking car horns and smashing glass until 6 a.m. No reasonable person could possibly have slept through the disturbances. I shared all of this information with the hosts and their response was that they cannot control the outside environment, which is a fair statement. They could, however, provide a better description of what to expect. This was not a simple matter of not getting sleep, but we were fearful for our safety. Had we known what we would experience, we would never have booked this unit.
This apartment is in a brilliant location with easy access to the city, we were tourists. Accurately advertised and easy to check in. Slight improvement would be an earlier check-in time.
Great location, very central - we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to see, including the Freedom Trail, Fenway Park, South Boston Waterfront, Harvard, Beacon Hill, Back Bay. Loved the closeness to the Public Gardens and the Commons. The apartment is cute and has all the basics we needed. It is just as described. We were prepared for the nightclub noise based on previous reviews and the house rules - we stayed Sunday to Wednesday and it didn’t seem to be open Monday or Tuesday night, so not too bad. The back bedroom is definitely MUCH quieter than the front bedroom, you can hear all the street noise in the front room. Overall a good stay, couldn’t ask for a spot closer to everything.
Great location. Clean and super cute. East access. It is lively street with dance club next door with music & thumping bass until late at night. It didn’t bother us & we feel asleep easily, but if you want quiet nights this is not the place for you.
We cannot recommend this place. It is SUPER loud and busy on weekends. The bedrooms are in the basement without the chance of opening a window
Great location and cool two level apartment. I did not hear any of the noise from the nightclubs the other reviewers mentioned but we did stay midweek. There is a nightclub a few buildings down but hey it’s the city…I’d be more worried about the theater two buildings up. They had the Blue Man Group preforming and like a bunch of dummies we bought tickets to see them. It wasn’t very good IMO.
Good location and nice unit.
This was a great place, and a very close location to all the major things in the city. It would have been nice to have had more notice about the late check in - we felt a little scrambled trying to figure out our luggage so last minute (though the host’s suggestions were very helpful). There was also a big, loud event happening in the street right outside the place late into the night, so there was lots of noise.
This place was nice.
Great place in Boston, nice flat very well located. I highly recommand.
Great location. So much was well within walking distance! What we couldn’t walk to, we took the T whereever we needed to go! Nice to have the green line so close! Very minimalist apartment. If you’re looking to cool while here, you’ll need everything to cook with. All other Air BNBs we’ve ever stayed at at least have salt and pepper, some condiments, etc. This had none of that. While certainly not necessary as we didn’t need to cook, but those that like to cook in for some days while on vacation, it’s important to know. While the reviews said that the club next door only operates on Friday and Saturday nights, we are experienced very loud bass on Tuesday night until 2:00 a.m. Just something to keep in mind.
Location, location, location!!! What a fabulous place to stay and enjoy Boston and the Back Bay area! Truly awesome location. Nice kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms. Some minor issues we had but the hosts were very good at communication and helped us. As other reviews have said, it is near a club so noise at night could be an issue if you are a light sleeper. If you want to be near back bay area or Fenway stay here!
Steven's place is right near Back Bay, so the location is super convenient. If you're in town for a convention or a short work assignment, this is the place for you!
I had an incredible stay here!! Great communication with host and close to several stations. Awesome place to stay either for work or vacation.
Great location and smooth process
Great space! Clean, cute, functional. Great location as well.
Great little place for our stay in Boston. It was walking distance from the Commons, great restaurants and only one block from a hop on/hop off bus tour stop. The only thing we missed was not having a dining room table to share a meal or play some cards in the evening. FYI...while the complex has a laundry room, it costs $2 per wash and another $2 per load to dry.
We stayed a Saturday and Sunday. The location is great-so close to theaters, restaurants and visitor tours. Parking on ramp and sometimes available on street. The apartment is 1st floor but the bedrooms are basement level. Owner did disclose that location is close to clubs and there is loud music until very late. That was true on Saturday. On Sunday, it was much more chaotic when the clubs closed. Cars blasting music, yelling, screaming and rough language woke all 4 of us. We were fearful especially when we could see the shadows of the people walking or standing by our basement bedroom window. The police sirens were next. It took until after 3:00am for things to quiet down. We slept from 3-630 and packed up and left. If you find these conditions tolerable, this is a nice place to stay. It was scary for us!
This place was great- all photos are accurate, it was very clean, parking near by. Steven is very communicative. Close to absolutely everything.
The five star rating given was in exchange for the early check in fee to be waived (the Venmo to send the early check in fee didn’t work) otherwise I’d give this rental 3 STARS at best. READ THE HOUSE RULES! There is a nightclub and no amount of earplugs, white noise machines, fans can help. It literally shakes the walls. The house rules do state this, but the description makes it sound tolerable…it is not. I’ve stayed in big cities plenty of times and not been bothered. It’s worth noting that The nightclub is next door, so that should be included in their description. Both bedrooms are downstairs. One bedroom has an opening in the ceiling to the den above. The window shade in this room does not keep out the light. The cleaning products used had a very strong (not pleasant) smell. However I didn’t find the place to be well cleaned. The main areas appeared to be clean, but if I had to guess, it seemed like they just ran a rag over the place; not a real deep clean. There were some black speckled places on the ceiling, could be a stain or mold. The location was decent, it’s in the theater district. Walkable to Boston Commons. The other units in this building may be ok, but I wouldn’t recommend staying in this unit.
This unit is accurately portrayed right in the downtown of Boston so it's a very good location very clean apartment. Check in and check out was very easy. While we enjoyed the cleanliness and simplicity of the place it lacks warmth and personality. This is a money maker, not someone's home.
The apartment was exactly as described. It was a little loud in the bedroom close to the street at night with the nightclub next door. However, we were prepared for that from the description, and using a white noise app fully addressed the issue. Super close to great restaurants and the public garden. We had a lovely stay.
the apartment was clear and well maintained. checking in and out was easy as well
I stayed here for 2 nights and it was almost $600 in total which was pricy for what it was. The toilet did not flush and there was no hand soap. This should’ve been checked beforehand since there’s a maintenance fee! Host did not offer or accept partial refund. After asking, they allowed an extra hour to check out without the $50 fee they usually charge. Maintenance for the toilet came as we were about to check out. The air conditioner is loud (if you’re a light sleeper) and one of the rooms is downstairs next to the street where you can see shadows and hear people walking by at night. Overall not the best experience for the price. However, the location is good. It’s in a little alley area but within 30-minute walking distance to popular places.
This apartment is great and in an amazing location. The space was very comfortable for me and my friends and the check-in, and check-out experience was seamless. Would highly recommend and definitely rebook when we visit Boston.
Great location and great communication. There are stairs inside the unit but there aren’t many when you first go in the building. Unit was clean and ready when we got there. Super easy checkin and checkout. There is a pizza place, 7 11, and Panera right across the street which we were very happy to have. The T is close by with the choice of two stations. I am glad we stayed there.
Fantastic spot if you're in town for a show. Plenty of great food nearby, and a short walk to several theaters.
Perfect location, the place was bigger than expected, options for early check in were helpful. Everything was great!
Great space for a quick trip to Boston. The bedrooms are comfortable. The location is wonderful!
Really great location - we will visit again!
Really great spot close to nightlife, Boston common, the ‘T’ and coffee shops (Tatte). Very centrally located. You will feel the bump of the bass from the club next-door on Friday and Saturday nights. Nothing overwhelming especially with fans or sound machines going, but something to be aware of. Host is very communicative and friendly. Come and enjoy Boston as it is such a fun place for all types of people!
Great location, has everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Layout was different than the pictures but didn’t impact our stay or satisfaction.
The apartment is in a great location that is very walkable. It is close to Boston Commons, dinner out, Whole Foods, and coffee. However, if you are a light sleeper I would not recommend staying here on the weekends. It felt like the bass was vibrating through the walls. The sound machine didn’t help much. The one week night was quiet.
This apartment was perfect! Great location - it was underneath/next to a nightclub, but sound machines were provided. Clean and cozy!
I was in town for business and this put me quite close to where I needed to be. Lots of options for restaurants and sightseeing. The noise from the street did make it's way into the apartment, but the white noise machines provided did the trick and I had no issues sleeping. Would stay here again the next time I'm in Boston.
Perfect location for exploring Boston Common and all the attractions downtown! Parking is a bit of a pain in the area, but there is a public garage just around the corner. Cute little apartment with all the amenities you need for a short stay.
We stayed during the week. It was quite without noise from the night club. Location is convenient to most of places we went. The downside for us is the check-in and check-out time. Plan your trip accordingly.
Incredible location, central to so many sights! The space has no frills but the beds are so comfortable, they’ve invested in the linens so we slept well. If you stay Friday and Saturday you should use the sound machine that is offered, or get earplugs from the cvs across the street. The club nearby can be heard but didn’t really put a dent in our enthusiasm about the area. This is a home right in the heart of the city and for sightseeing purposes it was top notch!
As I read in reviews there was noise related to surrounding clubs late into the night. Also this was a street level apartment. It was secured by one locked entry door but entry was before the 2nd security door. Otherwise a very clean large space for the city. Easy parking during the day. More difficult to find parking later in the evening.
Great place! Steven responded immediately when I reached out.
Great location and clean and comfortable unit.
Centrally located apartment. Very cozy and comfortable as advertised. The check in process was quick and easy. No concerns with my safety in the area either. This was a great stay for me especially because it is within walking distance of many hot spots, especially for the night life. I’d return again!
We stayed for a short weekend. The location was good, we were able to walk to the T or any restaurants with ease. The nightclub next door is super loud on the weekends, but we used the provided sound machines and weren’t really bothered by it.
Overall apartment was comfortable and enough for a short stay. Close to food (Chinatown) and entertainment (theaters like the Wilbur- 1/2 block away). Subway is 1 1/2 block away at Boylston. CON: NOISE from outside, on Friday and Saturday nights, from club next door is actually a pain. Not so much the sound coming thru the wall, but the people lining up outside right outside apartment making noise AND screaming (like they are fighting) - way too loud. Then after club closes around 2 AM, the cars traffic up this normally quiet street is like downtown traffic during rush-hour. Maybe next time, I will only book for weekdays (not FRI-SAT). Host did provide sound machines for each room. That was great on their part.
The place is really convenient to reach different places in downtown Boston. Great location with easy check in.
Easy check-in, convenient location - most downtown locations are within walking distance. FYI - laundry is not located in suite and is coin operated. The building is within the entertainment district of Boston and can get noisy on the weekends. A club is next door and you will hear the music in addition to the club goers who line up outside the front door.
The apartment is on a quiet street but centrally located. Nicely appointed and beds were comfortable. Quite happy with the choice.
Super good place for vacation
After reading other reviews I was worried about the loud noise from the clubs. It was not bad at all, I had no trouble sleeping there with my family. The location is amazing and is a very well kept place. I would absolutely book this again! Thank you for making it an easy and comfortable stay.
Great location. Clean place with everything you need !
The apartment was clean and comfortable and the location was in walking distance to everything we needed.
Great place to stay in Boston! Very nice simple place for the weekend and very walkable to restaurants and stores. Noise level was not an issue for us staying.
Wonderful location and great place to stay! It was very clean and spacious. We stayed here so that we could attend a wedding and the Airbnb was in a prime location! Close to the everything! The hosts were very accommodating and understandable!
great location. clean. easy checkin and clean.
Great place! Clean and comfy!! Would definitely recommend!
The location of Steven's place is AMAZING! We walked everywhere. The place is tidy and clean. Thank you for a wonderful weekend trip.
Great location, clean, easy check in. Warm, cozy, and comfortable.
Good value and location! The washer and dryer were outside the unit but never occupied. The area is very walkable.
Amazing location and great value. Tons of great restaurants, public transit, and parking garages nearby. Very secure and cozy. Definitely recommend and will be staying on our next trip to Boston.
We had a great weekend stay ay Steven's apartment. For 3 people who weren't planning to spend too much time other than regrouping and sleeping in the apartment, the space was plenty! We really enjoyed the location - with very quick access to shopping/bars/restaurants through the beautiful park. We definitely noted the music and noise coming from the next door night clubs / bars (as well as the lines of people waiting outside past the apartment door) but we knew this beforehand and weren't bothered! Played some white noise and we slept fine. I would imagine with kids or light sleepers it could be different so I would take note of that but it was not much of a bother for us at all! I would recommend Steven's place!
This is the perfect hidden gem in the lively neighborhood of the Theatre District - you won’t be disappointed!
Great spot for one night in Boston. A little loud from the club that’s next door but that’s expected. Still a good spot with a lot near you.
Excellent communication from the hosts. If you are looking for a place to lay your head for the night in an ideal Boston location, this is a good spot. If you plan on spending more time in the unit and less time exploring the city, you may be disappointed by the accommodations. For us it fit our needs. There definitely is noise from the club next door during Friday and Saturday nights. Given some other reviews made mention of it, we made sure to pack our own white noise. We had no issues getting to sleep as a result, but would have been difficult had we not packed it.
This property was well located near Boston Common. It was clean, and beds were comfortable. Easy check-in and check-out with entry keypad. Good communication with owner. Few suggestions reported to owner to improve the stay, ie. more kitchen linens, waste baskets on lower level, cork screw. The noise from the comedy shop and theater next door can be loud at night.
Decent place to stay. Bathroom is very uncomfortable though.
Great location and great hosts!
Overall, we were happy with our stay here. The communication with the host was top-notch with very fast responses and clear instructions/details, so we felt like any questions or issues we could sort out immediately. The neighborhood is also centrally located in the heart of Boston, so it was very easy to get to any part of the city. It's worth noting that this Airbnb is located next door to a night club, so on weekends you can expect to hear some of the club's music and clubgoers on the street late at night. So if you're a light sleeper, I'd recommend bringing earplugs.
I wanted to like the place. I really did, but I did not. Here’s the basic breakdown of our stay. Pros: Typically quick response time if you have a question during business hours. Close to public transportation options. Close to food locations and a 7/11 across the street. Cons: Upon checking in it felt very much like a large hotel room rather than a place of warmth and comfort. There were very few pictures or decorations. Early check in was not available due to a large number of apartments to clean. I’m not sure the standards that are expected, but when we arrived there was a huge wad of hair on the shower curtain and the dishwasher was full. Since we emptied the dishwasher ourself, we knew the dishes were clean. As for the kitchen, it was COMPLETELY empty of anything like spices, salt/pepper, cooking spray, etc. They could also use the addition of a spatula and baking sheet. Moving outside of the kitchen, there is no kitchen table even though there is open space for one and there are only 2 chairs for eating on even though the reservation was for 3 people. We had to ask for a third. The bathroom was also very “hotel-esqu”. The bath towels were very rough and small. I could barely wrap the towel around my 34 inch waist. Having three people staying here, there wasn’t enough places for us to each hang our wet towels in the bathroom or even enough sink space/shelf for us to place our toothbrushes. We used hangers and the wire racks outside the bathroom for those needs. The building’s fire alarm goes off if the water pressure in the road is low. That was a fun 45+ minutes we waited outside until we were allowed to go back inside. It took longer for the building people to actually turn off the alarm. The club music sounds and loud people outside make it “fun” too. Not the quiet place we were hoping for. Upon checkout, the “checkout” email mentioned nothing about hoping our stay was pleasant, warm, or thankful that we chose them like I’ve received from other previous Airbnb’s. It did, however, mention twice how we can help them flip the place to be ready for the next guests. Not very personal at all. Needless to say, if you are just looking for a basic place to stay without frills or “warmth”, you’ve found it. If you are looking for the warm Airbnb feel, you might consider feeling elsewhere.
We had great communication with the host and the space comfortably fit 2 couples. The location made it easy to walk to a lot of places which was convenient! However, there is a club next door and it was impossible to sleep there on a Sunday night between the hours of 11ish - 2am due to the thumping bass. If it weren’t for the club, we would have given this place 5 stars though!
Good location. The unit is adjacent to a club. The club was open Thursday and Friday night and the thumping of the music could be heard until early am.
This is in a really great location, close to the common, but was disappointed at the lack of cleanliness despite the huge COVID cleaning bill, and the lack of parking/clubs outside drove the value down for our group. ymmv.
Great location, good communication, easy check in. And clean. A bit noisy on street late night.
Make sure to have quarters if you want to use the building washing machines and dryers.
Unfortunately we had a poor experience with this Air BnB. Please take note that the pictures that are posted are not the actual apartment we received. There were similarities, but it was a completely different apartment. If this is a regular practice, the hosts need to make note of this in the booking that there is a potential for a different apartment that will be similar to this. Part of this also included no a/c in the rooms, which was advertised.
Good location to everywhere, clean and quick reply. But it’s so noisy at night, as the next door is a night club, they open every night until 2am.
Definitely an amazing find, right in the city and not in a sketchy area either. When we come to Boston again we will definitely be seeing if this is open again. There’s a 7/11 right across the road, breakfast down the street and restaurants to choose from that you can walk to at night. Also close to the park which is both beautiful at night and the day!
Great place and location! Clean and easy to work with
Steven’s place was spacious, clean, and convenient. Everything was as advertised. There was an AC issue, but Steven had a good backup option. Communication was prompt and clear before, during, and after. I would stay here again in Boston.
Great house! Easy to get downtown, close to Chinatown. We enjoyed our visit and would definitely stay there again!
Smack in the middle of the city. Right next to Boston Common. The location couldn’t be better. Spacious, clean and visually appealing space
Solid apartment next to great food and night life. 10/10 would stay again
location was absolutely ideal and service was great!
An excellent apartment in a superb location. Everything is available in a quick walk. The apartment is filled with everything you need from shampoo, to pots and pans. I highly recommend and we hope to stay again in the apartment in December.
Great location, very neat place that includes very spacious living room with fancy bar that made a comfortable relaxing place. All necessary appliances are available, including a dishwasher that added a convenience.
Steven's place is in a great location and at a discounted price versus the surrounding hotels and rentals. It was super clean and well kept and has most of the items you need for everyday living in the kitchen (pots and pans, utensils) except baking sheets for the oven. The gas range was a pleasure to use after having electric for so long I had to readjust to it but loved it! The location is superb and in pretty close proximity to anything you would ever need and/or want. Grocery stores are about a train stop away and there are multiple convenience stores and restaurants on the same block in the theater district so no car or rental is required. The only downfall to the location is there is a comedy club and night/dance club next door that creates quite a noise and crowd on holiday weekends and Friday/Saturday night. It usually starts up at 9:30/10pm and will go through 2-2:30am, and is pretty disruptive. Nothing that Steven or anyone can do, but it did surprise me the first time I experienced it. They were great in terms of communication and details of how to get there and then enter the building and space. Everything I needed to know was provided up front and if I ever needed anything they were only a message away and responded within a few hours. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended for those looking for a place where they can pick up their normal routine and not really miss a beat!
great location. Very quiet street but close to everything. Mattresses left a lot to be desired and there werent a ton of "amenities" BUT that would be our only "complaint". It was a great place to crash, it was clean, and the communication was great. They were very helpful.
Excellent location but run down interior with multiple missing/broken fixtures and window blinds. Terrifically dirty windows. Had problems with both toilets and host was very responsive but issues persisted. Chose the unit for its two bathrooms but one was usually out of commission with my poor husband working to fix it. Clean but very loud at night with window a/c units but thankfully comfortable linens and beds. Large living space. Could be great with some basic investment to upgrade bathrooms and fixtures.
