This beautiful apartment has exposed brick and an industrial feel, but also the warmth and comfiness of an inviting home. What makes this space unique is it's history. The building hallways all show historic photos of the neighborhood dating back to the 1800s! Just steps from the Boston Common, this building has had many tenants over the decades, from retail shops to manufacturing companies!
The building has an ADA compliant entrance, two elevators, two staircases, plenty of storage for trash, and even an Amazon Locker where you can send packages. (at the time of writing this description we are currently setting up the locker, please confirm if it is operational when you book!)
Each bedroom is thoughtfully designed, from the linens pillows and mattress to storage and lighting. Most bedrooms face inwards into a lightwell, or outwards into a city street, so you may not have "Amazing" views of a city skyline, but you will likely have a nice dark night sleep.
Each apartment is equipped with a smart lock and the building has an intercom system which allows a full, self-check-in experience.
The building is also monitored live by a third party security firm, 24/7 and we have an on-site security guard, nightly, from 8pm-2pm for your safety.
You'll have full access to the entire apartment as it if were your home.
We will give our guests the privacy they require with the support they need. We have coverage for virtual help from 7am-11pm and can help with any guest needs from 11am-7pm.
Just steps from the Boston Common, this neighborhood has had many personalities over the decades! Since the early 1900s, the area along Washington and Tremont Streets, roughly from School Street to Beach Street, has also been referred to as the Ladder District. Now it is most commonly named Downtown Crossing as most of the city's Subway's or (T-lines) intersect at Park Street station. The MBTA's Downtown Crossing subway station directly serves Downtown Crossing. The State Street and Park Street stations are within close walking distance. Silver Line service is also available. You can get literally anywhere in the city for a few dollars and a Tpass.
The apartment building is located on a dead end street which means it's super quiet for automobile traffic, but still has the lively city feel as foot traffic is sure to be noticeable any time of day, even in the winter. The Boston Common is only a few hundred feet from the entrance to the building.
Important to note is that lately there has been a gathering of homeless people during the day and night, right outside the 7/11 around the corner. The high foot-traffic provides them opportunities to pan-handle. Please use your caution, and common sense. We've never had an issue, but for folks visiting from towns and rural settings may find this surprising, even concerning.
We've taken measures to make sure our guests are very safe and comfortable during their stays. The building is monitored 24/7 live by a third party security firm. The Boston Improvement Department does nightly walks of the property and nearby streets. We also have an on-site security guard, nightly from 8pm-2am for your safety.
Shipping up to Boston? We put together a great guide filled with information for getting around the city and beyond!
Downtown Boston is easy to navigate. It’s compact, walkable, has an abundance of taxis, yes they still exist! And Uber's are always a tap away. What makes Boston so accessible is it's public transportation system. Driving downtown can be a challenge with its dated road layout and limited parking options but, it’s the most convenient option for travel outside of Boston Proper.
The MBTA is Boston’s public transportation system, and it’s a great way to get around quickly and cheaply. The “T” refers to the subway, which runs throughout Boston, into Cambridge, and into nearby suburbs, providing access to all the attractions located in Boston. Just look for the big "T" in a circle to find a stop.
You can also take buses to get all over the city, and the Commuter Rail is an easy way to get to points outside of Boston. You can buy paper “Charlie Tickets” for single or multiple subway rides at vending machines located in most stations. When your ticket runs low, visit a fare vending machine to add value. A single basic fare for the T is $2.75 with a Charlie Ticket, although if you pick up a Charlie Card (a plastic card like a credit card), the fare is lower at $2.25 for one way. You can load the Charlie Card with an amount of your choosing, so it's smart way to explore the city. They're available at almost every T stop, and are free to get. Once on board, hang on! Being one of the oldest public transportation systems in the country, the T is not always the smoothest ride.
Parking. or "Paahking" is hard to find, expensive (by most tourists accounts) and is best done in lots or garages for peace of mind. Please check out a website called "Spot Hero" to find the most updated options and prices!

Beautiful place to stay right in the heart of Boston! Very close to everything and the staff was awesome the whole stay
Location can't be beat. As a native Bostonian, I could not have asked for a more central location. T station less than a block; Boston Common less than a block; Back Bay, Faneuil Hall, Beacon Hill and even Boston Garden all walkable!
Pros: great location, close to everything and walkable. They also don't have any crazy rules for the apartment and they're dog friendly. Coms: there is construction at the window for all the bedrooms since they look out to the same enclosed space. Again the bed room faces construction workers from 7am-4/5pm, which is crazy and made my family uncomfortable. The walls are also paper thing so I heard neighbors kids running at 7 am sharp. Last thing the building is still under heavy control so be careful.
Awesome location! Great space. Clean and spacious. Would stay again!
Check in was effortless as we just used a code. The host was very responsive via email, but we never actually met or spoke. The beds in all four rooms were comfortable, not so for any of the pillows. The place says it accommodates six (which the beds can) but don’t expect that many to be able to hang out. There is one rigid couch, two bar stools and two small dining chairs. There was toilet paper, but no spindle in the front bathroom. The microwave door was broken, so they brought in another, small one to put on the counter. There were towels and tiny bar soap, pods for the washer and dishwasher, and shampoo. No kleenex, no coffee, not even art on the walls (there was just one poster of the periodic table). Construction began at 8:00am one foot from the bedroom windows. We couldn’t adjust the thermostat and the windows opened only two inches. So if all you want is a REALLY warm place to sleep, this place was great. If you want a place that feels a little cozy, keep looking.
This apartment perfectly accommodated our group of seven plus our 14 month old. The inside was clean, tasteful, and surprisingly spacious. The location and access is convenient to all Boston has to offer. Kudos to the hosts for crafting an impeccable offering. We will surely be back. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone considering a stay!
The location is wonderful. There is an outdoor mall behind the building that was very convenient. There was construction, but it was barely noticeable. The subway was literally across the street. The host responded very quickly.
Overall very comfortable stay. Location was great. Right next to Boston common and just a couple blocks away from the start of the freedom trail. Walking distance from so many other cool Boston areas including Feneuil Hall, North end, China town, etc etc. I was especially grateful for the good communication when we needed assistance getting the heat turned on.
Wonderful spot but it is definitely under construction. Very loud all day long. Hard to work remote.
Great location and great idea, poor execution. The walls are paper thin and we could hear everything that happened in the adjacent apartment, upstairs and downstairs, including construction that started at 6:30 in the morning with loud banging and power tools. The front door lock was barely attached and did not feel secure. The elevators were occasionally out of service. The apartment itself was nice and the bathrooms were roomy. The kitchen was fully stocked and useful.
Positives-GREAT location, clean apartment, good host communication, comfortable beds Cons-a quick turn around and make money place. SO many things broken/cheap/lack of care: microwave door handle coming off, toilet paper roller missing, electric short in bathroom light left you in the dark while in shower, rollers missing on dishwasher bottom rack, three glasses for a home that sleeps 8, no knives, doors on hinges blocking light switches, the heat WAS so hot overnight and we couldn't lower it, directions to get into key lock were incorrect and did not explain how to lock it when leaving, etc. The construction made it SO much better to use the Winter Street entrance. Overall, it was worth it for us for the location but it lacks personal touches that we have enjoyed at other Airbnbs. It's an Airbnb factory.
The hosts were quite responsive to any needs that we had. Although, it should be noted that the construction occurs on the weekdays and there's not a ton of natural light throughout the place. Other than these factors, it's in a great location!
I really enjoyed my stay here this was a great location for gathering friends in Boston.
Incredible place in the best location. Easily walkable to public transportation, the Massachusetts Statehouse, Sam Adams and John Hancock graves, and many other notable locations. We would definitely recommend this place and if we are back in Boston would stay here again.
Overall it was fine. The location was what we were looking for and there were plenty of bedrooms. There was a lot of construction in the building which started at 6am every day and paper thin walls and ceilings. The lobby areas were under construction as well which made navigating a bit more difficult. It was in the 40s the entire time we were there, the AC was on and locked, so the unit was extremely cold the entire stay. Satisfied in general, but hard to enjoy when you can’t warm up.
Hosts: Very responsive Area: Very unsafe/dangerous. The location is in a dead end alley where homeless tended to linger around during the evening. There’s no parking and the closet garage is quite a walk. While walking to get my vehicle in the morning (11am), I was nearly attacked by a homeless person. I had to run to the other side of the street. Also, witness a lot of drug use. Building: Completely unfinished lobby. The entire ceiling was exposed and I’m honestly not sure how safe it was to walk through it. It’s definitely an active construction site - I heard hammering and other construction noises early one morning. Room: Apartment seems unfinished in areas. It’s very dark and there’s no natural light. It was clean. No outlets worked in the kitchen area. For parents of small children - the Tv and Tv stand is not anchored and can easily tip over. Also, every room had blinds with long cords (hazard for small kids).
Great spot. Great accommodations. Wouldn’t mind just a bit longer a window — either a slightly earlier check in or slightly later checkout. Understand the desire for immediate turnover and cleaning flexibility given the place as part of the health care accommodation network, which is a great cause. But figure maybe another hour on one end or the other would still be manageable. Otherwise a fantastic spot. Highly recommend.
The location is awesome. We were able to walk everywhere. The condo was clean. You can’t find a better location for the price to tour Boston. Super convenient to shopping, historic sites, restaurants and the subway. We would definitely stay here again!
The apartment itself is lovely, it was clean and had everything we needed after messaging the very responsive hosts. Unfortunately, the block is under renovation and the electric kept tripping which was a pain. Overall a nice stay & will be perfect when the block is fully finished.
Outstanding location, steps from the Common, easy walks to downtown, Back Bay and Beacon Hill. Clean, comfortable and great responsiveness! Building had charm and great access to transit!
Large very well kept apartment in the heart of Boston downtown.
From start to finish our stay at Brian and Heather‘s place was amazing. The amenities were great, lots of room for our group, and it was very clean and comfortable. We asked for early check-in, and we were able to have this. Brian was very responsive to every inquiry we made. Thanks for a wonderful time in the city!!
This place was great!!! The hosts were so responsive and the place was wonderful and clean! Thank you so much!!
The location was perfect. Walkable to Boston Common and Beacon Hill. It should be noted that the building is under significant construction.
It Couldn’t be better I strongly recommend!
Was a great location, group of friends (4 couples) great beds, kitchen area a little small and more pots and pans would have been nice along with more stools in kitchen! Otherwise was a nice place to stay!
Brian + Heather were very helpful and responsive. It is in a great spot in Boston and close to the train. It fit all of our needs and would stay again!
It is my second year staying at this place and I am very happy. Location is great and everything works pretty well.
Very nice experience.
We love to see our Dodgers play on the road, Brian and Heather's place was perfect for us, group of 6 baseball fans looking for a nice, comfortable space to stay for a couple of days. Check in instructions were easy and smooth, the place inside is exactly how the photos look in the description. Basically in the middle of everything, great restaurants and bars, also the train is walkable distance. Brian and Heather were very helpful in a couple of questions I had and were fast responsive about them. We will definitely recommend this beautiful apartment to friends and family visiting Boston, Massachusetts. Thank you
Very nice location and plenty of space for a group of 5 or more. Basics were provided and plenty of towels. We did need to switch around bedrooms a few times given some of the bed frames were shaky and felt unstable but overall very positive experience!
There was a party both nights in the unit above us. Walls are very thin. We weren’t notified that the building is under major construction. Lots of construction noise during the day.
The checkin instructions had us taking our luggage and stroller down an entire flight of stairs. The location is excellent. The noise level from the construction going on literally next door throughout our stay was frustrating. We have a 4 month old baby and I came prepared with a sound machine but the drilling, & banging noises were enough to keep all of us from napping and woke us up early each morning. There were people working on the building fire suppression system which kept closing the fire barrier doors. They also had drilled many holes all over the unit that hadn’t been patched and cut big squares out but didn’t bother with repairing them. The room my baby slept in the blinds broke and you have neighbors directly across. Just made me feel uncomfortable. The bedroom door wouldn’t close because the bed was in the way. The sheets and towels were noticeably dingy as there were new and old with a brownish tint. We paid a lot to stay and just overall disappointing.
This is a great location for things to do in Boston….Freedom Trail, Red Sox game, proximity to train lines, and great restaurants. Unit was secure and clean. Walls had some damage but was just superficial and didn’t affect anything. Brian and Heather were really great to work with. Very responsive to our questions and alerted us to a fire alarm test days in advance. Would recommend this place for sure!!
Apartment is as pictured. Easy communication and check-in. Beds are very comfortable. The kitchen has only very basic equipment. The apartment is not well insulated against upstairs and outside noise. One big draw back at the time of this review: the building is still under construction and they do start work at 7 a.m.
Great hosts and great location.
Fantastic location, near everything. They were so helpful and responded quickly.
We had a great stay! The apartment was right in the middle of Boston with access to Boston Common and Freedom Trail. Great location, great place to stay!
Great location for walking the Freedom Trail and other areas in downtown. Had all we needed for family of 5. Would come back again, thanks!
The location for this AirBnB was amazing! The building itself was under construction while we were there but it wasn't loud enough to be distracting. The apartment itself is spacious and had everything we needed during our stay.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at this Airbnb in Boston. It was great and the location was fantastic. It was situated in a prime area of Boston, allowing us easy access to all the major attractions and neighborhoods. We were thrilled to have such a central base to go explore the city. The apartment itself was lovely. It had a very welcoming atmosphere, making us feel right at home. Cleanliness was a top priority, and the apartment was impeccably maintained. The beds were comfortable, and we enjoyed a good night's sleep after our busy days of exploring the city. The kitchen was well-equipped, allowing us to prepare meals when we didn't feel like dining out. The Wi-Fi connection was reliable, and we had no issues staying connected. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at this Airbnb, we highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Boston!
My colleagues and I stayed here during the BIO conference, it was spacious and provided enough space for us all, and it was a quick 15 min walk to the convention centre. Would recommend staying at Brian & Heather's for future conferences in Boston. Thanks!
Wonderful location and clean place. It was very comfortable and the hosts were very responsive as well.
A great spot to stay for exploring Boston on foot with a group a friends!
Wonderful location and a very roomy apartment with plenty of bedrooms. The hosts were very responsive and friendly. Our only problem was the noise; the family staying in the upstairs apartment was extremely loud, at night and early in the morning, simply the floors are very creaky so any walking upstairs is loud; and any noise in the hallway can be heard which is annoying if there’s a party or people coming and going very late. It’s really not just “city life”, the building is old and loud, simple as that. The hosts were very responsive but there was no real recourse to solve the sound issues.
The place was perfect for our group and the location was great. The hosts always responded promptly to messages.
Great place for a great price! Would happily stay again.
Had a great stay with friends here!! The space was super cute and very clean. Easy check in and check out. Walking distance to many places around the Boston Common area. Brian and Heather respond to questions in a timely manner. Would recommend this place to anyone and look forward to a future stay!
Awesome place to stay! So much space!!
Great location near Boston Common. We lucked out that there was no show at the theater next door, so it was decently quiet for downtown. Bedrooms were comfortable and clean. Definitely a great space for sleeping and exploring city. Would be tight to hang out as there isn’t much seating for either eating or hanging out. But it was great for us!
Amazing stay, super cozy, very accommodating hosts.
This place was perfect for a weekend or an extended stay. It had everything one could need and it was extremely clean. The location is perfect for walking and is right next to Boston commons. The beds were very comfortable and there were enough pillows which is a rarity!
Everything was great with this cute apartment! Walking distance to so many historic activities. Hosts were super responsive and helpful! Would stay here again!
Brian and Heather are wonderful hosts. They were quick to respond to questions and gave us accurate information about the apartment we rented. The apartment was very adequate for a family of five plus baby. They also allowed us to bring our two dogs. After asking Heather, we received a new coffeemaker (there wasn't one in the rental) in a short period of time. Renters should familiarize themselves with the parking garages in the area, since there is limited parking onsite. We would rent this apartment again as it is in a great location near the Boston Commons, allowing people to walk everywhere. It was not very noisy for a city apartment.
Great location can get to everything in city easy
Our weekend stay in Boston was fine for the time we were there. The apartment had nice privacy in each room and was free of street noise for the most part. The beds were comfortable if you are good with memory foam. Some like it others don't, the bed linens were fine and new. There is not a lot of luxury to the setup but the place is clean, check-in is easy and the hosts were very quick to respond.
Great location! Center of boston near everything. Parking was a little tough since the theater was using the spots provided by the property. So we had to park almost a mile away. But not terrible. Condo could use more cookware (one pan) but overall a great place to stay for a weekend in boston!
Nice location. Clean and tidy. A bit noisy from people upstairs.
Thank you! Overall a great experience and we love staying in that area of town! Everything was clean and tidy. We look forward to staying at the property during our next visit to Boston.
Incredible place in the perfect area! Accommodated our girls trip perfectly!
The apt. offers decent value however, while it is centrally located it is in an alley that does not feel very safe. The apartment and building are a bit run down. The photos look much nicer than the reality.
We had an excellent stay and thank Brain and Heather for their hospitality!
Stayed here for one night because our flight got cancelled. It was super easy and convenient to check in. Clear instructions, clean place and great location!
Great location. Great apartment. Great space for a larger family. Rental company communications were quick and check in was super easy
Very clean, comfortable beds and a great location. Many restaurants, bars, grocery store and retails stores close by …. All within an easy walking distance. The T is also close by as well. Airport was about a 15 min Uber ride.
Clean, beautifully furnished and straightforward checkin!
My group of friends really enjoyed our time staying at Brian and Heather's place. Space was clean, comfortable and as described in the listing. Close to the train and many of the great neighborhoods in Boston. Would recommend staying at this location as long as you're looking to be in the middle of the action and not a quiet retreat from the city. We wanted to spend a weekend out and about, so this apartment was perfect for our group.
Great location and service from hosts!
Very nice apartment. They communicated very well and made the stay simple! Would definitely recommend
Overall clean and comfortable place. Lock pad at front door means no one loses their key and great to have the shared living room / kitchen space
Location is just perfect, short distance everywhere. We were able to park car nearby for public parking garage. Aparment was very clean and nicely decorated. Highly recommend for people who want stay heart of city but also enjoy silence in own apartment.
Very cool, clean, comfortable place!
This was a great Airbnb for our group of friends! The location was ideal, plenty of restaurants and bars around plus a huge park across the street. The communication was consistent and thorough, the hosts provided everything we would need to know about the apartment. Would definitely stay here again, a great way to see downtown Boston!
Really glad we were able to book this spot. It was so convenient for our group's first time in Boston. Literally across the street from the Boston Common and super convenient location for train/our dinner out as well. The hosts were very good at communication and accommodating as well.
Great appartement to stay, highly recommended!
Great location and hosts, not a single question upon check in or out, smoothest AirBNB I’ve had
Great Location. Can walk anywhere. Close to attractions , restaurants, public transportation, the Commons and the Garden. Very clean. Plenty of room. Brian was very nice and quick to respond to any questions we had. Previous reviews are pretty spot on. Thanks for hosting us !
Great location, communication and exactly as described.
Excellent location but run down interior with multiple missing/broken fixtures and window blinds. Terrifically dirty windows. Had problems with both toilets and host was very responsive but issues persisted. Chose the unit for its two bathrooms but one was usually out of commission with my poor husband working to fix it. Clean but very loud at night with window a/c units but thankfully comfortable linens and beds. Large living space. Could be great with some basic investment to upgrade bathrooms and fixtures.
